FULL PETTY FEVER : Who, What, When, and Why

Hello, and welcome to our 1st "Full Petty Fever" blog. 1st off, lets get the basics out of the way.. starting with the Who?..

Full Petty Fever is a 4 piece Tom Petty tribute, the members being: Cameron Grant (as Tom Petty), Jay McMillan (as Mike Campbell), Jim Forbes ( as Ron Blair), and Kevin Drinkwater ( as Stan Lynch). More info is available on the "BAND" page of this site.

The What: Full Petty Fever is a Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tribute show, the hits, the sights, the sounds.. every aspect of a Petty show is represented, from the Rickenbacker guitars, to the Vox amplifiers... because we're just starting out, we're playing all the hits, and some Traveling Wilburies as well. The deeper cuts and oddities that Tom favours will come in time, but right now, it's All the Hits, All Night!

The When: As this is our 1st year doing this, shows will be announced slowly, and should be more plentiful as the summer continues. Watch this site for upcoming events..

The Why: Why not? .. as a group that have sold over 80 million albums, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers have fans everywhere, and we're out to make them happy. Tom has had hits for 5 decades, from the 70's hits like "Breakdown" and "Refugee", in the 80's with the Full Moon Fever album and Wilburies project, through the 90's with the Wildflowers soundtrack and the hit "You dont know how it feels", and on into the 2000's with the Highway Companion cd with the hit "Saving Grace".. and last but not least, the 2010 release of "Mojo" and 2014s " Hypnotic Eye"... to say Tom is a prolific writer would be putting it mildly.

So, to sum up, we do it because Tom is cool, he's got great songs that people want to sing along to, and you'd be hard pressed to find an artist today that has fans as passionate about his music than Tom Petty.
